If you look very, very closely you can see that this was filmed with a camera, the shadow of which can be seen in the top of the reflective mirror.
Call me crazy, but I think it was his film crew that crashed it!

It’s just a finger guard- he’s probably got his hand in a fist so you can’t see the fingers. That way, when he’s being all awesome-dwarf, it’s harder to cut his shooting fingers off :)
My mom gave Kim Rhodes a bag of chocolate truffles when we got our autographs, she flipped, immediately opened the bag and ate one, talking the whole time about how she was just saying she needed chocolate and kept saying how good it was even after we had gone to the next table for Rachel Miner (she liked the chocolate too^^)
